Start the game
by inserting a coin and pressing the start button.

Move Mario
using the
joystick
: push left or right to move horizontally, and up or down to climb ladders.
3.
Jump
by pressing the
jump button
to avoid obstacles and gaps.
4.
Avoid barrels
and other obstacles thrown by Donkey Kong by jumping over them or moving out of their path.
5.
Climb ladders
to ascend to higher platforms and get closer to Pauline.
6.
Reach the top
of the screen to progress to the next level.
7.
Use hammers
found on some levels to smash barrels and enemies temporarily.
Continue playing through multiple levels with increasing difficulty until you rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong.
